Italian writer Umberto Eco passed away in Milan on February 19, 2016 at age 84 after suffering from cancer. Eco is most well known for his 1980 novel The Name of The Rose. Umberto Eco is quite possibly the most famous writer to come out of Italy.
The funeral services for Eco were held on February 23 at Castello Sforzesco in Milan in the “Cortile della Rocchetta” inside the castle.
